Kat Dennings, born Katherine Victoria Litwack on June 13, 1986 in Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania was the firstborn child of Ellen and Gerald Dennings. Her mother, Ellen, was a speech and poetry therapist, while her dad, Gerald, was a molecular pharmacologist as well as a professor at a college. Dennings was raised in a Jewish family, and was the youngest of children. Dennings was homeschooled and only briefly enrolled in a traditional school. Since she was acting since a young, she found it was a good idea to homeschool as a solution. At the age of nine old, she started performing in commercials for television. Then she moved into Los Angeles with her family following high school in order to study acting. Kat Dennings was her name when she began to audition. Kat Dennings was the first actress to make her debut on the HBO series "Sex and the City" In 2000, after her move to LA. Kat Dennings appeared in "Sex and City" in HBO.
